A miller brags to the king and the inhabitants of the kingdom that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king locks the girl in a tower full of straw and demands that she spin the straw into gold. Just when she has given up hope of freedom, a small, vaccine-like man appears in the room and spins the straw in return for her necklace. The king keeps his promise to marry the miller's daughter, but when her first child is born, the imp returns to claim his reward.
