Chilsung, a beggar, is constantly tormented by a group of cruel boys who enjoy mocking him with cow dung. Feeling humiliated and fed up, he retreats to the mountains and reflects on his situation. His thoughts turn to an old man he wants to help, and he decides to give him the best thing he's collected from begging that day. When he returns to his village, his younger brother Chil-woon eagerly awaits him, hoping for candy promised by their mother. However, Chilsung doesn't have any to give, and Chil-woon runs away crying. As Chilsung continues on his way, he can't shake off the feeling of disappointment and sadness that lingers within him. This poignant story explores themes of poverty, bullying, family, and the resilience of the human spirit.
