In this fairy tale, a Padishah (king) has three daughters and a beloved horse that he entrusts to his daughters' care. The two older daughters fail to earn the horse's trust, but the youngest is able to feed and water it. When the Padishah returns, he marries his youngest daughter to the horse, while the older two marry the son of the chief sheikh and the vizier. At night, the horse turns into a man, and the two have a secret love affair. When the Padishah's daughters compete in a game of darts, the horse-man reveals his true identity and overpowers everyone. The youngest daughter betrays their secret, and the horse-man disappears. She sets out on a journey to find him and succeeds, but the horse-man's witch mother turns her into an apple. The horse-man saves her and reveals her true identity to his mother, and they live in peace.
