Story following the misadventures of a Bulgarian peasant named Bay Ganyo as he travels through Europe, experiencing various cultures and social classes. The novel is a commentary on the cultural and social differences between Eastern and Western Europe, as well as a critique of the negative attitudes towards Bulgaria and the Balkans.
